Fine and very beautiful large Swiss gilt, pearl and painted enamel antique pocket watch for the Chinese market circa 1840. The back with a beautifully painted bouquet of flowers. Typical fine scratches to the overglaze. The case with pearl set bezels, pendant and bow. Weak lift spring. Wonderfully shaped and engraved estimated 9 jewel crab-tooth duplex escapement with "devils" on the balance. This escapement allow the watch appear to beat jump seconds. Spring-hinged glazed dust cover. White enamel dial (cracks and repairs) with black markings and blued steel hands.
