watch signed Breguet and Fils, with skeletonized dial circa 1800.
The dial with three multi-color gold angels striking mock bells synchronized with the chiming of the watch.
of the watch. White enamel chapter ring with cracks and edge restoration, mostly hidden
under the bezel. Substantial case with coin-milled band. Gilt movement with pierced and
engraved cock.
Repeaters from this period with three automaton figures are rare and this is a particularly
attractive example.
When the pendant is depressed this watch chimes the hours and quarters on gongs with
loud and clear tones.
Abraham Louis Breguet was perhaps the greatest watchmaker of all time. His fame was so
great that many of his contemporaries signed his name to their products. This fine watch
was not made by Breguet.
