Fine and rare 18K gold hunting case quarter repeater by DuBois & Fils
circa 1810.
Heavy sunray design hunting case with a button in the coin milled band to
open the cover. White enamel dial with black numerals and blued steel Breguet
hands. Gilt cylinder movement with repair to one gong,
When activated by depressing the pendant, this watch chimes the time using
different loud and clear chime tones to designate the hours and quarter hours.
This is the first and only hunting case repeater from this period that we have seen.
