Scarce Patek Philippe silver niello keywind hunting case antique pocket watch
circa 1856.
The case, pendant and bow with beautiful floral decoration.
White enamel dial with blued steel hands.
Gilt 10 jewel cylinder movement. Movement number under the dial matches the
case number on the dust cover.
Niello is a black metallic alloy of silver, sulfur, copper, and usually lead, used as
as an inlay on engraved metal.
This is early for a niello watch, and it is very unusual to find a niello watch by
Patek Philippe.
