Fine, scarce, and early Swiss 18K quarter repeating center seconds musical
watch by Isaac Daniel Piguet circa 1800.
Handsome open bridge gilt cylinder movement. Early sur plateau 11 tine musical
mechanism playing at will by a button in the band.
Fine white enamel dial with blued steel hands.
The engine turned case (minor ding) with coin milled band, push pendant to
activate the repeat, and dust cover engraved with a musical score.
Signed on the band of the movement and numbered 181. Particularly
fine condition and particularly good musical tone.
Isaac Daniel Piguet was known as one of the finest makers of complicated watches.
He formed a partnership with Henry Daniel Capt from 1802 to 1811, and then with
Samuel Meylan from 1811 to 1828. Lovely.
