Patek Philippe 5-minute Repeater with Polish Provenance
Fine Patek Philippe 18K gold hunting case 5-minute repeater circa 1903.
White enamel dial with blued steel hands. Plain polish case with repeat slide in the
band. Fine nickel 34 jewel movement (some spots) with precision regulator.
When activated, this watch chimes the time using different chime tones to
designate the hours, quarter hours and minutes with clear bright chimes.
The monogram is that of Sylvan Strakacz, Consul General of Poland and secretary to the Polish pianist and
statesman (Prime Minister), Ignacy Paderewski (1860 to 1941) from whom he received
the watch as a gift. Thence to his daughter, a California resident.
