Fine French 18K gold, pearl and enamel 44 mm dumb quarter repeater antique pocket watch
by Vaucher, Paris, circa 1790.
The bezels set with large pearls, the back with a foil design of a bird in a fountain
within a floral border on blue enamel over an engine turned background.
Replaced enamel dial (contempory with the watch) with repairs at the edge and winding hole.
Verge and fusee movement with large pierced and engraved balance cock. Lovely.
When the pendant is depressed this watch chimes the hours and quarters
on the case in a discreet manner so as to not disturb others.
