Patek Philippe Up/Down
Very fine and very rare Patek Philippe 18K gold antique pocket watch
with Up/Down indicator within the seconds chapter and with certificate circa 1919.
Fine white enamel dial with bold black numerals and blued steel hands.
Plain polish case with hidden hinge. Fine nickel 20 jewel 8 adjustment
movement with wolf's tooth winding and precision regulator marked "Special."
This watch is just one grade below observatory chronometer.
It is very rare to find a Patek Philippe pocket watch with an Up/Down winding indicator,
and even rarer to have it within the seconds chapter.
"Special" quality watches were specially adjusted by masters who were the
highest paid workers in the watch industry. These watches were made to the
highest possible standards and were several times more expensive than the
regular production. Only the very best of these watches were selected for observatory trials.
Diameter 53 mm
NOTE: The small circles or shadows in some of our photos
are reflections of the camera lens. Since this watch is much smaller than in the
enlarged photos, a tiny blemish or imperfection that you could not see when looking
at the actual watch can appear very large in the photos.
