Fine, rare and beautiful Swiss 18K gold, pearl and enamel musical quarter
repeater center seconds antique pocket watch for the Chinese market circa 1840.
The bezels, pendant and bow set with pearls, the center of the back with
a bouquet on a marble table. The band also beautifully enameled.
White enamel dial (small imperfection) with gold hands.
A lever extending from the dust cover to play or silence music playing
automatically on the hour. There is also a slide in the band to play the music
on demand.
When the pendant is depressed the watch chimes the time using different chime
tones to designate the hours and quarter hours.
Gilt three train cylinder movement with a loud clear chime and a sprightly tune.
