Fine and rare large Ulysse Nardin 18K gold perpetual minute repeater split second chronograph with
register circa 1910.
Beautiful enamel dial (virtually invisible hairline in subsidiary seconds dial) with indications for the full calendar, moon phases and chronograph. Heavy
plain polish case. First quality estimated 34 jewel nickel movement jeweled to the center and the
hammers. Signed by the maker on the case, dial and movement.
Unlike simple calendar watches, this mechanism "knows" the number of days in each "
month and also accounts for leap year. When activated, this watch chimes the time
using different chime tones to designate the hours, quarter hours and minutes with
loud clear tones. This watch is also able to time two events and record elapsed
minutes. With copies of the workbook for this watch. Excellent example.
This is perhaps the finest Ulysse Nardin watch from this period that has come to market.
According to the registry listing this watch was sent to an Exposition in 1910.
In that year Nardin won a Grand Prix at two major international events in Argentina.
Nardin does not have information on which watch received a prize, but it well could have been this watch.
