Fine 18K gold verge and fusee carillon quarter repeater antique pocket watch circa 1800
signed Breguet.
Exceptional beautifully engraved dial with a goddess being pulled by doves. Engine turned
case with very light wear and plunger in the pendant to activate the chime. Gilt movement
with pierced and engraved balance cock.
When activated this watch chimes the time to the last quarter with loud
clear tones with three chimes for each quarter instead of the usual two.
Abraham Louis Breguet was perhaps the greatest watchmaker of all time. His fame was
so great that many of his contemporaries signed his name to their products. This fine
watch was not made by Breguet.
