Handsome French silver gilt verge and fusee automaton quarter repeater antique pocket
watch by Esquivillon and Deshoudens, Paris, circa 1810.
Wonderful repousee gilt dial with lions and a palm tree and natives striking mock bells
in time with the repeater mechanism. Central enamel chapter ring and enamel hour
markers.
Engine turned case (some wear) with coin milled band. Gilt movement (signs of age) with
pierced and engraved balance cock.
When the pendant is depressed this watch chimes the hours and quarters on gongs with
loud and clear tones.
